27 years of fly fishing experience on
the West Branch of the Ausable make Tony
Ottomano as close to a “local”
guide as you can get. Living in Maryland,
Tony heads for the West Branch in the
spring and fall when he’s not guiding
on the Gunpowder River. His fly tying
skills and fishing savvy have gained respect
with local guides and anglers. There are
very few folks in this neck of the woods
who know the West Branch of the Ausable
any better than Tony.
His clients get the benefit of fishing
with his favorite stonefly pattern that
has become famous among his fishing friends.
As far as Tony is concerned, it’s
always a great day as long as he’s
on the water. Tony’s positive attitude,
sense of humor added to a whole bunch
of expertise and experience makes him
a whole lot of fun to fish with.
Many of the graduates from our Learn to
Fly Fish program credit Tony with igniting
their passion for flyfishing. So, whether
you are an experienced angler or a complete
novice time on the water with Tony can
improve your “fishing game”.
