The ability to translate
and impart the skills of, and passion
for fly fishing developed over a lifetime
is a gift. Len Sauers has “the gift”.
All of his clients and students benefit
from the lessons he learned growing up
on the limestone and spring creeks of
Central Pennsylvania, Penn’s Creek,
Spring Creek, Spruce Creek, Bald Eagle
Creek, and Loyalsock Creek among them.
Len was an avid fly fisher by the age
of 10. Tying flies was second nature and
soon his handmade creations were fooling
the wily native trout on the famous Pennsylvania
water.
His passion for fly fishing continues
and he now resides in the Adirondack Mountains
in constant pursuit of the regions abundant
elusive browns and rainbows. The summer
months mean smallmouth to Len and he can
be found on the mountain lakes chasing
smallmouth & largemouth bass in his
customized Boston Whaler.
Len is well-respected as a professional
angler and has competed in ESPN's Fly
Fishing Challenge and OLN's Fly Fishing
Master series. His dedication to fly tying
and expertise as a fly tier is well known.
If you asked Len what he likes the best
about fly fishing, he would tell you “the
guiding”. Helping others land the
“catch of a lifetime” is always
a thrill. During the off-season, Len passes
the time working in his CPA practice and,
of course, tying flies for the next season.
