THE DREAM MILE is a remarkable stretch of river available to our lodging guests at a daily rod fee of $50 per angler, limited to 8 anglers per day. This stretch offers the opportunity to hook, land and release large fish in a scenic easily waded section of the river. Reservations are necessary due to the angler limit and popularity of this remarkable fly fishing experience.
THE BUSH COUNTRY is a historic section of the West Branch of the Ausable river that is only accessible via a long, arduous day hike. The Hungry Trout Resort has secured acres of private river side property that gives our guides easy access to some rarely fished water. A day on The Bush Country section is a guided experience due to the difficulty of the wading and a challenging logistical setting. There is a $25 rod fee per angler that will be collected with the guide fee.
TWIN PONDS BROOK TROUT PRESERVE is the ultimate canoe angling experience. This guided brook trout experience, is offered in the spring and fall. Anglers of all ages and skill levels have an opportunity to catch 4 - 5 pound colorful, feisty brook trout. Fished with sinking lines from a moving canoe, this is a rare opportunity to experience the Adirondack Brook Trout in their native habitat. The ecosystem at Twin Ponds Preserve includes a floating bog and myriads of birds and animals. This is a full day experience for 1 or 2 anglers per boat. There is a $50 rod fee per angler added to the daily guide rate.
